Chapter 2: The Science of power and relations of force - The traditional political power - The economic power more and more dominant - The balance of power between the actors of these powers - Interest groups and lobbies - The media, the role of communication, relays and influence
Chapter 3: The concept of democracy - The Athenian democracy - Modern democracies - The problems of contemporary democracies: globalization and terrorism
Chapter 4: Liberal democracies - Definition - The liberal regimes: Presidential parliamentary and collegiate  - Territorial divisions: Unitarianism, regionalism, federalism, confederalism - Modes of elections: majority, proportional and mixed
Chapter 5: Belgium
- At the crossroads of the Nation State, the European Union and globalization
Chapter 6: The concept of globalization - Definition and specifications - Differences between globalization and globalization - Law of Treaties, tools of globalization
Chapter 7: The Challenges of Globalization - Geopolitics - Democracy - The History - The Economy - Scientific Research and Technology - Ideologies - The Power
Chapter 8: The actors of globalization - The Men - Public Opinions - The State - International organizations - Multinational - Non-governmental organizations - The European Union, the United States, Japan, emerging countries (BRICSAMS)

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course of Political Science and Global Studies aims to analyze the relationship between the national and global economic development and political action of the various makers of liberal democracies and international organizations

Course is conducted into three parts:
- An oral course - Replicates by a student monitor - Personal training by news and readings

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

50 hours in active classroom (taking notes)

Written examination:


80 questions in the form of MCQs including 20 actuality questions:
- Good answer: 1 point
- Wrong answer: negative result proportional to the number of replies, from -0.25 to -1
- No answer: 0 point
 
There are three sessions in January, June and September
