Learning unit contents

As the course is common to several sections of various faculties (Institute of Social Sciences, Institute of Public Health, Faculty of Psychology), an attention is granted to the diversity of the school and professional courses, but also to the waitings of students.
This course tends to link at the same time theoretical topics (the large sociological theories which had an interest for the ageing-related themes) and concrete problems (mistreatment, dependence, active ageing, etc.)

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the student will be able to remember and will have understood the main sociological and theoretical concepts met.
Especially, he will have acquired a critical glance on notions such as the dependence of elderly people, the older workers, the representations of old age...
He will be able to argue on these topics.
