Learning unit contents

- Aspects of perception: psychophysical relations, seeing shapes, colours, relief, movement, objects. Illusions and visual inattentions, visual strategies.  - Applications in everyday life: advertising; lighting and road markings on motorways and in towns; media and communication; eye-witness reports. 

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Familiarisation of students with the field of psychophysics and improvement of their knowledge about visual perception.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

In-depth study of a theme on the basis of recent scientific work.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Classes taught at ULiège.
Individual oral presentation on the topic which were chosen by the student. 
Compulsory attendance.

Recommended or required readings

A chapter presenting the theme chosen by the student as well as 1 or 2 empirical papers to be included in the presentation.
