Learning unit contents
The objective will be a better knowledge of the psychopathological disorders most frequently encountered in children and babies.
Various psychopathological disorders and clinical problems most frequently encountered in children and babies will be discussed.
More specifically, the course will revolve around two main axes:
Definition (notably nosographic based on DSM-V and CIM-11) and clinical description of each of the clinical issues with their prevalence, developmental trajectory, etiologies and explanatory theoretical models.
Reasoning and clinical diagnosis training for each of the issues presented using clinical vignettes.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course aims at introducing students to the main psychopathological disorders during childhood both from both nosographic, developmental and relational approaches.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Ex-cathedra classes enriched by various contributions: slides, clinical vignettes, examples from clinical practice with children.
Student participation will be particularly encourageded. Students will be invited to analyze cases, discuss in small groups and share their thoughts with the rest of the class.
