Learning unit contents

The course aimes at providing students and future teachers with theoretical, conceptual, and practical tools to:
1) problematize issues of efficiency and equity in educational systems in light of educational research, particularly experimental, quasi-experimental and correlational approaches;
2) analyze recent educational policies in light of this framework.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

1) Know and identify knowledge from educational research in relation to the effectiveness and equity of educational systems; 2) analyze recent educational policies in light of the frameworks and research discussed in the course; 3) develop a critical view of the contributions and limitations of the approaches studied

Evaluation (subject to change):  QCM (open ended and short development question) and case study
The lecture has two parts and separate grades for theory and practice. In order to get the credits, the students have to get a P grade (at least 10/20) for the theory. Students who got a grade equal or below 7 for the practical part or for the comprehensive question have to improve their grade.

Attendance to the sessions dedicated to practical exercises is compulsory.
