At the end of this course, students will be able to
- provide useful comprehensive recommendations and explanations for the best compliance to an antimicrobial treatment.
- to understand the main drivers for antibiotic stewardship
- argue about the role of antibiotic pressure on emergence of resistance.
- describe the impact of contaminations on pharmaceutical products.
- describe the main sterilization methods, equipments, wrapping, controls and their characteristics, to be used within hospital
- refer to regulatory requirements about the organization of the central sterilization department in hospitals
- explain the principle and limits of sterility tests.
- discuss the indications and limits of the main antiseptics and disinfectants and argue about the choices.
