Learning unit contents
The class is divided into 10 sessions, the first of which is an introduction to the class. 7 sessions are centered around the book "False Alarm" by B. Lomborg. 2 sessions deal with writing an essay.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The two main objectives are the following:
- the ability to write an essay on climate change defending an orginal thesis in rich and correct English;
- the ability to defend one's essay in fluent and correct English.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
B2+ level (CEFR).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The class is mainly taught in the shape of group oral presentations. Each of the 7 discussion sessions is chaired by a group that manages the discussion and organizes a discussion activity based on a video.

The finale grade is calculated as follows:
- Written exam (50%)
- Oral exam (40%)
- Chairing a session (5%)*
- Classwork: attendance and homework (5%)*
The written exam grade can be transferred to the second session if it is equal or superior to 10/20.
