Learning unit contents
The course aims to present recent scientific studies in the domain of quantitative supply chain analysis. It covers research topics like: supply chain network design, long-haul and short -haul transportation, inventory management, production and distribution planning, operations scheduling, supply chain coordination. The scientific articles and book chapters to be studied are generally chosen taking into account the research interests and academic backgrounds of participants. Participants are wanted to analyze these chosen articles and book chapters and to present them during the course sessions. Each participant is also wanted to present a literature review on a commonly decided subject at the end of the course.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
- Understand, master and compare the main theories relating to their area of research.
- Make appropriate use of the different theories.
- Create useful and rigorous knowledge in the context of a first piece of research.
- Gain autonomy.
- Communicate and argue orally.
- Demonstrate critical thinking.

The course is accessible for Master and PhD students that are interested in developing their research capabilities in the domain of supply chain management. Please contact Professor ARDA (yasemin.arda@uliege.be) until the end of October to ask for admission.
