This course is the student's first contact with research in the field of history and theory of architecture;
At the end of the course, the student should demonstrate knowledge of the subject matter, the links between periods, achievements, routes, ideas, influences and developments both chronologically and in terms of the main themes that have succeeded one another over the time period.
He/she should acqure an adequate vocabulary specific to the architectural discipline.
He/she must be able to summarize and classify concepts, to show critical analysis and the ability to establish relationships between different subjects.
He/she must develop a spirit of synthesis which shows the acquisition of the subject in its complexity.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
History & Art History courses from secondary school.
