Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The course addresses architectural design in a broader environmental and energy context. It focuses on the acquisition and understanding of the theoretical bases in building physics related to energy balance and dimensioning.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
At the end of the course, the student will be able to integrate the aspects of energy rationality, as a structuring dimension of the architectural project in order to be able to apply them in the project.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
ARCH3277 Techniques de construction 1A, Construction, Structure, Confort, Matériaux.
ARCH3278 Techniques de construction 1B, Construction, Structure, Confort.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is given in the form of interactive face-to-face lectures.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Presential
Recommended or required readings
The course materials are made available to students via the eCampus or myULiège platform. A bibliography adapted to the content of the course, which is recommended but not obligatory, is indicated during the session.
Assessment methods and criteria
The evaluation method consists of a synthesis work using as a support the project "La maison brulée" carried out during the first four months of the architecture workshop course ARCH0241-2.
The work of synthesis consists of analysing the project as presented to the final jury of the first four months. It is not required to redraw the project or modify it graphically.
The analysis (written argumentation illustrated by diagrams) must focus on the notions of comfort (thermal, visual, etc.) and energy balance (thermal envelope and equipment).
Students who have not completed the project "La maison brulée" are invited to choose another small-scale housing project completed in one of their architecture project courses.
