Présentation
Transfusion medicine has intensively evolved during the last decades thanks, in part, to the growing knowledge on transmissible diseases and their diagnostic tests, immunohaematology and processing technologies. This field is submitted to a continuous evolution and should react in front of the challenge of emergent diseases and innovative knowledge and technologies.
Paradoxically, this scientific area, in a relevant number of EU member States is limited or poorly developed on the educational programs of the different educational cycles of the studies of Medicine and other Certifications on Health Sciences, leading to a limited training or knowledge of this part of the medical practice or, at least, to a heterogeneous training on this speciality. Currently Transfusion Medicine learning occurs during a few months of the studies of Medicine through the Haematology specialization.
All this clearly indicates the need of a process of definition of a learning programme, at least, on the post-graduate situation.

All this clearly indicates the need of a process of definition of a learning programme, at least, on the post-graduate situation.
To face this situation, the consortium of Transmed Project, has developed a common educational content of this scientific area, the European Master in Transfusion Medicine and Advanced Cell Therapies (EMTACT).
Conditions particulières d'accés / Public cible
Have a relevant BSc (for example Medicine, Pharmacy, Biomedical Sciences, Biology) or a Bachelor's degree with relevant course work, or its equivalent, in another relevant (bio-medical) discipline from a recognised university of good standing. Insufficient previous education (e.g. a non-relevant BSc) may be compensated by sufficient professional experience in blood transfusion, blood banking, or cellular and tissue therapy, on the grounds of a decision to that effect taken by the board of admission.
Are sufficiently proficient in English, to be assessed by the Board of Admissions. This means to submit proof of: IELTS score 6.5; or TOEFL score 233 (computer-based), 577 (paper-based) or 91 (internet-based); C1 level within CEF (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), unless they have completed previous education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia or any other country providing bachelor education in English, or if they have obtained an International Baccalaureate or European Baccalaureate diploma. A Language Advisor to the Board of Admissions may conduct an interview with the applicant by telephone to verify his/her level of English.
Durée de la formation
The structure of the programme will be a part time on-line programme offered in two years of 30 ECTS each (total 60 ECTS).
Inscription
Enrolment will take place at the Consortium Secretariat, located at the Fundació Dr. Robert (Barcelona). Admitted Third Country students will send legalised documents while EU students certified copies to the Consortium's Secretariat and a signed acceptance letter together with commitment fee of 100 EUR once they have received the preadmission letter. Once revised, the Consortium's Secretariat will send the admission letter to the student.
Students must register on joining a course and then renew registration every year. Continued registration will depend on satisfactory progress, which will be formally reviewed at regular intervals.
There will be only one tuition fee, the same for European and non-European students. Fees cover tuition fees and all local administrative costs. These fees will be paid once a year to the consortium's secretariat (FDR).
