VEGE0027-A :

  • Development of "portfolio" regarding the description and management of different major crop productions in temperate areas;
  • Ex cathedra lectures on other aspects of cropping system management (PGDA, EIS/MAEC/etc., temporary grasslands, etc.);
  • Collective co-creation session.
  VEGE0027-B :
  • Practical implementation by the student of the wheat cropping management itinerary - the theoretical part has been seen in the VEGE0024 lecture - Writing of a report on the choices made by the students.
  Vege0027-C :
  • Practical work sessions on the statistical analysis of databases relating to the management of the technical itinerary of wheat (the theory has been seen in the course VEGE0024), using the R software.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Plant science of various species involved in large scale cultivation and animal fodder production in temperate regions

The objective of the course is to enable students to develop innovative cropping systems, integrating different cultural and agroecologic levers, and to propose the entire technical management itinerary of the crops within these rotations, while remaining critical of the suggestions made (strengths and weaknesses of the propositions).
Beyond agricultural production sensu stricto, this also includes the environmental and legislative aspects that frame the profession.
This course is designed to enable students to 

  • To reason the itinerary of production of vegetable species of the temperate regions by taking into account their biology and the finality of the productions;
  • To include this reasoning on the scale of the crop rotation, aiming at multiple objectives (economic, environmental and societal).
