Learning unit contents
The course focuses on modernization, long-time waves, critical approach to the concepts of social cleavages, mass organization, legitimation of power, on the basis of theories developed by some political scientists and of the comparison between various contemporary political systems both within Europe and outside Europe. Case studies illustrate each of the various concepts we consider.
The course is held every odd year. In septembre, october and november, sessions will be held for students.

Grounded knowledge of basics social mechanisms.

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Organizational remarks
"To give knowledge and ways of thinking, not to learn to pass exams, are the aims of university". The course is held every odd year (2019-2020) and not in 2020-2021. Nevertheless, some meetings with students wil be held in september, october and november.
