Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

Radiation laws / radiative budget Conduction laws / steady state and harmonic conductive exchanges Convection laws / Sensible heat convective exchanges Psychrometry / Phase change/ Convective latent heat exchanges Energy and mass budget of biosystems

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

- Identify a system and its boundaries, - Identify and quantify energy and mass fluxes exchanged by a system, - Establish the energy and mass budget of a biosystem end identify the driving variables and parameters of the budget.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

- Thermodynamics course (Bloc 1) - Fluids mechanics and Photometry (Bloc 2)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Lectures : 18h Pratcical works : 18 h

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

Here are the modalities that will be applied in case of restrictions related to the health crisis:
- If the theoretical courses are not authorised in the classroom, they will be virtual via the Collaborate platform.
- If tutorial sessions are not allowed in the classroom, sessions will be held at home with support from the teaching staff via the Collaborate platform.
- If face-to-face examinations are not authorised, students will be assessed remotely via the Collaborate platform

Recommended or required readings

- Lecture notes - Monteith and Unsworth, Principles of Environmental Physics, Edward Arnold.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Any session :

- In-person

written exam ( multiple-choice questionnaire, open-ended questions )

- Remote

written exam ( multiple-choice questionnaire, open-ended questions )

- If evaluation in "hybrid"

preferred in-person

Additional information:

Code Yellow: Examination partly in the computer room (Theory) and partly in writing (Exercice).
Code Orange: Online Exam
