Learning unit contents

This course will address the cellular and molecular neurobiology of various pathologies of the central and peripheral nervous system.
Thematics:
- Spinal cord injuries
- Neurodegeneration (Parkinson & Alzheimer)
- Brain tumors
- Cortical malformations
- Epilepsy
- Multiple sclerosis
- Depression
- auditive disorders
- Addictions
- Stroke
These themes will be taught by experts in these fields (see details on e-campus)

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of this course, student will be able :
- to synthesize the essential elements of a literature review
- to explain the neurobiological mechanisms, at the cellular and molecular level, of the pathologies seen in class.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

10 X 2h lectures (IN ENGLISH), given by experts in the field.
Each session will be structured according to the following scheme:
I. Remote preparation (personal work of the student): in-depth reading of literature reviews on the topic addressed. Review provided by the teacher via e-campus platform.
II. Face-to-face course: discussion, questions and quiz based on the review, with the students, covering the essential points to be taken from the reviews.

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

SESSION JANUARY 2021 - FACE-to-FACE ORAL EXAMINATION - Rooms 14 and 15 / B23 / -1 - Wearing a mask is mandatory - Exam duration: 10 minutes of preparation and 20 minutes in front of the jury (3 people) - If a student is in quarantine: he/she must provide a medical certificate, and take the exam the same day, orally, remotely, via the Collaborate platform. He must notify Mrs. FRANZEN at the latest the day before the date scheduled for his exam, by E-MAIL, so that a Collaborate link can be created and sent to him. - If a student is sick (Covid-19 or any other reason), he/she will be EXCUSED if a medical certificate is provided.

Recommended or required readings

Before each face-to-face course, the student will have read the journal (s) provided by the teacher via the e-campus platform.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

The exam will focus on one or more of the topics covered during the lessons.
it will take place with a jury made up of 3 teachers (who will vary according to the exam schedule) and a moderator present at all exams.
