Introduction
This cours introduces qualitative research, as one of the methods used in psychology and education.
Cours et travaux pratiques
The course introduces the specificities of qualitative approaches through steps in a scientific research (data collection, analysis and interpretation). Grounded theory method (GTM) is introduced as a generic formalisation of qualitative research.

- Understand the benefit of qualitative research in psychology and education

- given a research question, decide whether a qualitative or a quantitative approach is relevant,
- accurately define qualitative terms,
- designate a qualitative phenomenon.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Introduction
Fluency in French is mandatory. Students whose mother tongue is not French are encouraged to follow this course when they will have acquired a perfect mastery of French langage.

- Practical work consists in realizing a qualitative research in teams (elaborating a research question, conducting and analysis of an interview).
