Learning unit contents
The course begins with a short introduction to the historical and sociological background to Caribbean literature. The rest of the course is devoted to the discussion of selected poems, short stories and novels, most of them written by contemporary writers. The theme this year will be "Jewishness and the Holocaust in Caribbean literature"
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Introduction to anglophone Caribbean Literature and trauma studies with a discussion of representative literary works.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Very good knowledge of English.

Second term, 2 hours a week.

Poems, short stories and excerpts from novels will be available at the beginning of the course.
