Advanced study of a subject in recent literary and cultural theory: literature and psychoanalysis

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Familiarising the students with reading canonical theoretical texts. Developing their competences to critically assimilate and apply the available literature on a theoretical subject.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

A sufficient command of English for reading theoretical texts in this language.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Collective discussions of selected texts (Lacan, Derrida, Barbara Johnson, Shoshana Felman, Slavoj Zizek).
