Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Edition des papyrus littéraires et documentaires grecs et latins
At the end of this course, the student will be able to edit a Greek or a Latin papyrus.
Restauration, conservation et digitalisation des papyrus
At the end of this course, the student will be able to restore, conserve and digitize papyri.
Constitution et exploitation de bases de données papyrologiques
At the end of this course, the student will be able to organize and use papyrological databases.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Prerequisites: Bachelor's level abilities in ancient languages and literature, classics orientation, and in the course Archaeology of Greco-Roman Book (LCLA0063-1).
Recommended programme components:
Papyrology and Greco-Roman literature (LCLA0044-1),
Introduction to documentary papyrology (LCLA0062-1),
Ancient Greek and Latin palaeography (LCLA0034-2).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The seminar will include:
1. Regular presentation and sharing of results of student research (oral presentation of the current state of a project, description of problems encountered);
2. Participation (including written reports) in scientific activities within the university and outside it;
3. Writing and editing for publication in a scientific journal of some critical reviews of recent work in the area chosen by the student, on in an ancillary field;
4. Specific research work leading to completion of an end-of-studies paper;

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
If necessary due to the health emergency, lessons could be taught by video-conference, according to the same schedule as when face-to-face (Wednesday, 8-10a.m.), or could be replaced by homework.
No change is required for the examination, based on the works done during the academic year.
