Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The classes are organised according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
In each level, several skills are worked directly with the specific competency frameworks.
Those are grammar skills, written comprehension, oral comprehension and communication skills (written and oral expression).

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of each course module, the student will be able to perform language tasks specific to the level he has followed and to access the next half-level.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

No prerequisite is needed.
The students who are full beginners in French will enter an A1-level group.
The other students will take a placement test before the beginning of the course which will enable a diagnosis of their knowledge of the French language. On this basis, they will enter a group which level fits them best.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The courses use stimulating and efficient methods: communication and interactive pedagogy, conversations and work in small groups, language laboratory and multimedia...

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

The course consists of 60 hours: 45 hours of in-class time and 15 hours of online work through the DECLIC platform.

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

The lessons and also the final test could be organized on line through learning tools (Collaborate, Lifesize,...) on the E Campus of the University.

Recommended or required readings

The notes will be provided by each teacher at the beginning of the module and/or at the beginning of each class.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

An assessment test will be organised after the 60-hours course.

Work placement(s)

No work placement is planned.

Organizational remarks

All students have to take the placement test before the beginning of the course.
Only students who have received an international diploma in French as a foreign language (DELF-DALF, TCF, TEF), which cannot be prior to 2019, are exempted from the test.
