Learning unit contents
In this course, students will
- Be introduced to the activities involved in software development and IT project
- Be introduced to different lifecycles used for software development and IT project. It includes waterfall, RUP, Agile, etc.
- Be introduced to standards modelling languages such as UML and BPMN
- Be introduced to Management concepts in software development and IT project: Risk, Time, quality, Cost, People, etc.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
After this course, students will have developed different knowledge and skills:
- have acquired the fundamental activities involved in software development and IT project
- have acquired different software development and IT project lifecycles, in particular RUP and Agile methods
- have acquired skill for modelling different aspect software and project by using UML and BPMN
- have acquired skills and tool sets for managing software development and IT project
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Students should have taken the cours INFO0074 (or similar) and INFO2039

- Lectures/invited lectures
- Practical sessions and additional help sessions will be organized
- Work in groups: students are asked to choose a topic related the course and present in the class. The topic include: XP, Scrum, ITIL, PMBOK, CMMI, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
The course will follow a continuous assessment system. The final score is based on the following assessments:
- Presentation: 10%
- Project: 40%
- Final Exam: 50%
