Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
Images are part of the working environment of the Bio-engineers. The lecture addres the notions usually linked to image analysis :
- General notion of photonic, human perception and colour
- Image acquisition, light sources, notion of optic, sensors and image recording
- Image processing, linear and non linear filtration, bondaries detection, segmentation, pattern matching, the transforms, the texture
- Image analysis, blob characterisation (colour, shape, texture), global parameters, peak detection, object analysis, notions of grammar and classification
- Notions of 3D vision
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The objective of the course is to familiarize students of Master in Sciences and Environmental Technologies with technologies they will be led to encounter in their professional life or during research.
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
- Choose the component of an acquisition system
- Choose and implement the relevant algorithm considering a given goal
- Select colour, shape and texture features
- Perform pattern recognition with dedicated software
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Physics, Informatics, Metrology, Statistics
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Lectures (12h) and practical work (12h)
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face
Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
Recommended or required readings
Lecture notes and slides will be made available to students on e-campus. The notes are written with a black impression in mind.
Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
