Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
This course contains 7 chapters:
1. Production of X-rays
2. The structure factor
3. The reciprocal lattice and the Ewald sphere
4. Symmetry
5. The powder technique
6. Single-crystal methods
7. The 4-circle diffractometer
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The aim of this course is to introduce the students to the main tool of the Mineralogist: X-ray diffraction techniques.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The content of the course "Cristallographie et Minéralogie" must be known.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practicals: X-ray powder diffraction, , X-ray single-crystal diffraction techniques.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face learning. Practicals are OBLIGATORY.
Some chapters may be managed via podcasts.
Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
