Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
As a first step, the course deepens the theoretical concepts developed as part of the course "Global Navigation Satellite Systems". Then, the theory is put into practice to solve concrete problems: the student learns to process GNSS data from geodetic receivers or smartphones to calculate positions using the main modern positioning techniques: Single Point Positioning (SPP), Precise Point Positioning (PPP) and Real Time Kinematics (RTK).
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The student will be able to implement the positioning technique best suited to achieving a given goal.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GEOG0037) and Theory of errors (GEOG0626).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Face-to-face learning.
Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
Recommended or required readings
Lecture notes are available
Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Any session :
- In-person
oral exam
- Remote
oral exam
- If evaluation in "hybrid"
preferred remote
Additional information:
Report on the activities carried out during the data processing sessions and oral examination on the contents of this report as well as on the theoretical material seen during the course.
Work placement(s)
Organizational remarks
The course is organized in 3 hour lectures given each week during the first semester.
