Learning unit contents
Strategies for managing buildings, structures and infrastructures in reinforced concrete
Pathologies of concrete, steel, natural stones, wood and structures
Auscultation techniques and laboratory analysis
Products and techniques for maintenance and repair
Definition of underestimated actions and of design weaknesses: thermal effects, effects of deformations, fatigue, vibrations. Description of techniques and calculation problems specific to repairs.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
To be able to give a diagnosis of a concrete, stones and masonry structure, on the base of laboratory analysis and investigation techniques, and to propose products and techniques for repairing

Concrete technology and design. Steel and concrete structures design. Knowledge on material behaviour (wood, natural stones, silicates)

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Oral examination (1/2h) with analysis of 1 or 2 case histories. Face-to-face or online depending on sanitary conditions.
It is mandatory to participate to the visit on site. Students who would not participate cannot present exam.
