Learning unit contents

Linear programming, simplex methods, sensitivy analysis, duality Data mining Queueing therory basic features, arrival and service processes, M/M/c models Simulation basic principles, random generators, analysis of the results

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Acquire some familiarity with the mathematical modelling approach to decision making and with models and methods used in operation research ; Become able to reconstruct and to interpret output models ; Become able to identify situation where these models can be applied successfully.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Mathematics (linear algebra, matrix algebra), probability theory and statistics (concept of random variable, classical distributions, expectation, variance, etc.).
