Learning unit contents

This workshop is first an opportunity to questionthe use of images, sounds and film cutting. Each students group must direct a video film on a specific topic.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Through this workshop students will improve their knowledge of the AV language through their own production of a video portrait. The concrete learning of the various parametres to be taken into account when you move from theory to practice will be an opportunity to raise the various aesthetic and ethical issues that pertain to the direction of a film, and of a portrait in particular.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Basic video knowledge acquired by the Audiovisual techniques class (shooting, audio shooting, editing and mixing) - CINE0039.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The main point of the workshop is the video each student produces.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

If the sanitary conditions don't forbid it, the class will be held face-to-face.

Organisational adjustments related to the current health context

Recommended or required readings

No syllabus but clear instructions to be found in a document students receive at the beginning of the year.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Evaluation is mainly based on the work students produce at the end of the year, taking the creative process into account. Indeed the main aim of the workshop is to foster exchange rather than individual projects.
