Learning unit contents
Internship is minimum 4 weeks long in a company or administration with activities linked to civil engineering studies.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
Internship is primarily intended to train the student to the application, in companies, administration or research center, of the knowledge and experience gained during his/her studies. The internship is an essential complement to the technical and social education of the student.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Technical skills about conception, design, building and management of civil engineering structures and buildings
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Observing and reporting way of life of a company (or administrative structure) and people relationships - Application of calculation, design and analysis methods.
Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)
Organisational adjustments related to the current health context
If the sanitary context does not allow to have face-to-face presentations, they will be organized online.

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Additional information:
Report (40%) : within 3 weeks after the end of the internship, the student has to provide a report with the following content:
- general presentation of the company (± 2 pages) ;
- objectives of the internship (± 1 page) ;
- working methodology and tasks performed (± 10 pages);
- results (± 5 pages) ;
- conclusion (internship benefits and perspectives) (2 pages).
In total, the report should not exceed 20 pages.
The report will be delivered to the academic supervisor.
Oral presentation (40%)
The oral presentation of the report will occur in front of the internship jury during an annual session organized apart from the examination period.
Evaluation by the industrial tutor (20%)
After the internship, the industrial tutor is invited to give his/her appreciation about the internship and the student using the « Formulaire d'Evaluation du Stagiaire » form.

Organizational remarks
An internship agreement has to be signed BEFORE the start of the internship by the student, a representative of the company where the internship will take place and the academic supervisor of the internships. A risk analysis evaluation has also to be filled by the company.
