Learning unit contents
This course envisages some historic and theoretical questions relative to animation film. It is more particularly interested in the western cartoon movie, gives an important place to the history of the American cartoon and questions the conception of these artificial characters that are the figurines of the cartoon film.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course contributes to the analysis of the representations of the body in the cinema. He also gives theoretical and esthetic references to the students who discover the peculiarities of the cartoon film.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Good knowledge of the history and the esthetics of the cinema.

The course, very illustrated, requires the active participation of the students.
