Learning unit contents

Improvement of Japanese language skill (grammar) and enrichment of communication level (oral expression, discussion). Student is expected to have a personal point of view on Japanese culture and to be able to discuss with other students in Japanese (preferable) or in French.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course helps students to improve their Japanese language communication skills. It offers students opportunities to express spontaneously their opinions in Japanese, and to discuss about issues and topics suggested by the Professor.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Intermediate level reqired as regards grammatical skill and writing ability. Students should be able to express themselves easily and understand others' conversations. At least a 2-year learning level.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

2 hours/week. Face-to-face learning method.
Face-to-face method a priori. However, according to the situation due to Covid-19, e-learning method might be used equally.

Assessment methods and criteria

Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.

Constant evaluation (presence at the course, written and oral work) and a final examination in January (writing, reading  and speaking skills are tested).
