Learning unit contents
The content of the course focuses on issues of theoretical principles, illustration of context and constructive and architectural choices that gave rise to innovations and currents of architecture that generically called "Modernism".
By browsing through a large number of examples from the history of architecture between 1900 and 1950, we offer an in-depth reading of each the project, its context and the process that has produced certain results.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The objective of the course is to illustrate theoretical approaches that emerged during the first part of the twentieth century and continue to influence our practices and environments. This course is intended as a support for architectural workshop courses and more generally for knowledge of the discipline. The ultimate goal is to offer each student a theoretical, critical and analytical methodological background allowing him to use this knowledge in his training as an architect.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
All theory and history of architecture courses from previous Bachelors years.

Assessment methods and criteria
Below you will find information on the evaluation methods planned for in-person and remote exams as well as those planned for hybrid sessions. Depending on how the health crisis evolves, the chosen method will be communicated to you no later than one month before the start of the exam session.
Written exam. Test of 20 questions based on the content of the lecture or essay. To be determined according to sanitary conditions
