Learning unit contents
Students enrolled in the Masters in Cosmos Exploration have to submit a final dissertation. This is an individual piece of work relating to astrophysics, planetology or the sciences of the universe in general, carried out under the supervision of a promoter. The subject of the thesis must be chosen no later than the end of the first term and must be agreed directly in consultation with the promoter. All thesis topics and the name of the promoter must be approved by the Masters jury. The role of the promoter is to define the objectives of the work, and to guide the student towards completing it. The thesis promoter must hold a doctorate in science or applied science.
The thesis is a personal piece of work that uses the skills acquired through the various courses in the Masters in Cosmos Exploration. It aims to develop the student's autonomy, critical thinking and scientific mind. The thesis also develops analytical thinking by promoting multidisciplinary approaches and the ability to write scientific reports by integrating language adapted to diverse and complementary scientific disciplines.
