Learning unit contents

This course consists in an immersion in a professional environment of the space sector. The host team can be located in Belgium or abroad, in a research institure, a space agency or an industry, depending on the available offer.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

This course shall allow the student to observe and apprehend the operational context of a space job. Hosted by a team or laboratory head, he shall better grab the day-to-day aspects of this kind of job.
 
The student shall also have to participate in pratctical activities during this internship, which therefore is not limited to a simple observation internship. These activities must be consistent with the thematics covered by the specialized finality of the Master in Space Sciences, and will aim at developing practical skills defined in agreement with the titulary.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The activities are defined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature and needs of the host team, in concertation with the titulary.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

The student presence on the internship site and participation in the activities agreed upon are compulsory. Remote (at home) work is incompatible with the internship objectives.

Recommended or required readings

Documents can possibly be provided be the host team.

Assessment methods and criteria

The student shall deliver a brief (maximum 20 pages) report describing the host entity and collecting his observations and acquired skills. This report shall be briefly presented orally, followed by a discussion.

It is recommanded to register as soon as possible in order to select a topics with the titulary and take contacts with potential host units.
