Learning unit contents

Organized in groups, the students will devise a development education project aimed. During the lessons, they will learn the methodological bases and will experiment different tools and activities. At the end of the seminar, each group will present its project and participate in the evaluation of the other projects.
Contents:










  • Design of a development education project and management tools
  • From theory to practice: concordance between objectives, activities and evaluation
  • Different examples of activities and resources
  • Citizenship engagement: new forms of participation and leverage for change
  • Pedagogical plan and pedagogical scenario
  • Models and paradigms of learning
  • ICT's added value in development education

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The seminar aims at teaching the students how to devise and set up a development education project.
To this end, they will be able to:






  • use a specific method and process management tools
  • apply this method to a given environment and public
  • identify the ULiège's environment specificities as focus area
  • collaborate in a team to complete the project
  • criticize the working method and bring improvements to it.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The seminar is mainly organized on project-based teaching: in groups, the students are in charge of creating a specific product by following certain instructions and in a given time.
However, other methods will also be used during the lessons: introductory presentations, resources exploration, problem solving - experiencing concrete activities, debates, insight into the learning experience.

The keeping of a "logbook" will be requested and explained to the student.

Assessment methods and criteria

Each group must submit a synthesis document of their project and present (animate) it in plenary.
The students will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria:
At the sub-group level:





  • Quality of the project document: respect of the methodological instructions
  • Quality of the presentation/animation of the project in plenary
At the individual level:




  • Contribution to the work of the sub-group
  • Participation in the collective activities and attendance.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Course closed because all students passed the first quad term.

All the course material and supports remain accessible on the Agorakit platform.
