Learning unit contents

This course is an overview on virus diversity in term of morphology and genetic materials. The different type of infection and viral infection transmissions are also addressed as well as methods of virus detection and production. The illustrative examples are principally virus involved in human pathologies or virus studied in ULiège research laboratories.

To enable the student to understand and explain:

  • Virus molecular and morphologic characteristics,
  • Virus infection and transmission between hosts
  • Methods of virus detection, identification and production
