Table of Contents 1) Introduction: anatomical and functional organisation of the nervous system. 2) The brain protections: the skull and the meninges / CSF 3) The brain 4) The brainstem and cranial nerves 5) The cerebellum: anatomy - histolgy - functions. 6) The spinal cord: anatomy - histology - functions 7) The CNS vascularization 8) The peripheral nervous system - Nervous plexi 9) The visuel system 10) Olfaction and Taste 11) Auditon and Equilibrium 12) The sensitive pathways 13) The motor system 14) The limbic system 15) The upper cortical functions

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Learning objectives:
1) To know the anatomy of the Nervous System, and to localise the main structures 2) To describe the main motor and sensitives modalities 3) To explain the successive steps leading to a voluntary mouvement and its control 4) To know the functions of the cerebellum and its afferences/efferences 5) To explain the general organization of the autonomous NS 6) To be able to explain the different components of pain: localization, perception, emotion, autonomous component and control. 7) To cite the cerebral strucutres involved in langage (production & comprehension) 8) To kno circuits and structures involved in memory 9) To know all cranial erves and teir organzation, their nuclei and their respective functions 10) To explain brain and spinal cord vascularization
