Learning unit contents

  • Introductive session (3h) about the aims of the different internships scheduled during the bio-engineering courses, the internship organisation, CV writing, motivation letter writing, skill abilities, internship workshops;
  • Internship workshop (3h) whose the aim is to definie for each student the internship project related to his professional project by realising different activities allowing a better self knowledge and a reflexive work on observation ability;
  • Internship of minimum 1 week;
  • Final intership workshop (3h) to highlight and share the intership experience and to redefine the professional project.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The internship with a duration of minimum 1 week (2 ECTS) aims to give a contact to the student with the professional life within a company. The internship would allow to the student to:
1. Define his professional project by knowing his motivations and waitings;
2. Be able to have a professional strategy to search a job;
3. Discover the company organisation by observing a leader.

Prerequisite knowledge is related to :

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Learning activities are :

  • 3h in a large auditorium to present the internship modalities
  • 3h in smaller groups to prepare the internship
  • Internship during a minimum of one week
  • 3h in smaller groups for internship debriefing

Face-to-face and distance learning.

The necessary documents are available on e-campus.

Assessment methods and criteria

It is a written evaluation based on the redaction of a CV and a motivation letter (30% of final score) and a reflexive report about the realized intership (60% of final score). The remaining 10% is related to the evaluation of internship chief.
If the evaluation score is lower than 10/20, the student must rewrite a report or remake an intership. The decision will depend on the commentaries made by the coordinateur and the intership chief.
If the student does not respect the rules given to make the internship or does not realize the two internship workshops, he will not be evaluated (0/20).
No dispense will be given to student having already made a internship in the past.
 

Work placement(s)

Job placement in a company during a week.

Organizational remarks

Students are invited to check Hyperplanning and to check their e-mails in order to have the information on place and hour of face-to-face meetings.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Instead of observing the job in the company, we ask you to interview your company responsible by phone or visioconference.
 

Assessment subjects

After the interview, the student writes his report. This one as well as his curriculum vitae and his motivation letter must be submitted on the intranet platform. The report will be composed of the following sections:


  • Introduction (max. 1 page)
  • Observations (max. 3 pages)
  • Conclusion (max. 1 page)
For the M0 student, the report does not change and its structure is available in the student's guide.
