Learning unit contents
This course is mainly an introduction to the physics of in-vivo medical imaging.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Some of the concepts on material and electromagnetic waves and on quantum and nuclear physics studied in the courses Physics II and Physics III.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This learning unit make use of different leraning and teaching activities such as on-line courses, face-to-face courses and practical works. Video documents are projected during the courses. They are full part of the course contents.

Effective presence at the practical works will be checked.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
The theoretical course is face-to-face. Much more active participation of the students is expected during the introduction to digital images and for the practical works.
Recommended or required readings
The recommanded textbook (in french) is "Imagerie médicale - bases physiques" par A. Seret & M. Hoebeke, 2012 or later edition, Presses Universitaires de Liège.
Laboratory manual is downloadable from eCampus.
