Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Regarding the theoretical part of the course, the chapters not covered in the classroom have been reorganized in the form of blocks of essential subjects available on myULiège platform and eCampus. A list of questions and exercises will also be attached to it. This list will include a non-exhaustive set of questions that may be asked during the theoretical part of the exam.
Regarding the practical part of the course, the remaining rehearsal sessions were transformed into projects. Four projects (1 project per week of lessons) will be available to you on myULiège and eCampus platforms:
-TP7: Fourier transformation
-TP8: Convolution product
-TP9: Theoretical and analog filters
-TP10: Shannon sampling
These projects are presented in a similar way to the practical sessions. The oral instructions given during these face-to-face sessions are replaced by written instructions. Each project contains an introductory part, a theoretical reminder and a set of exercises that you will be asked to solve. These guided exercises are built as a series of instructions to follow in order to obtain the desired result that you will have to understand and interpret. Finally, just as after each practical course, an optional additional exercise will be offered. For any remaining questions at the end of the realization of your project, you are asked to write it clearly and precisely in a word document (.docx, .pxp format will not be accepted). These questions can be sent to the following address: thomas.ratz@uliege.be.

Assessment subjects

-Moment of functions, dimensional analysis, vector spaces, distributions
-One-dimensional Fourier transform
- Shannon's theorem
-Linear filters and convolution product
-Theoretical and analog filters
-Notions of probability
- Propagation of uncertainties
-The method of least squares

Assessment methods

3 hour individualized written exam which will be transmitted via the eCampus platform on the date and time of the exam. Each student will give their resolution (indicating on each document: name / first name / signature) via eCampus or email at the end of the exam. The accepted file format as well as the examination instructions will be communicated to the students beforehand.

Contacts

You can address all of your questions on the theoretical part of the course to Prof. Silhanek (asilhanek@uliege.be) specifying in the subject line the name of the course and the subject. Regarding the practical part, questions can be sent to the following address: thomas.ratz@uliege.be according to the method described above.
A discussion and exchange platform: "discord" (https://discordapp.com/) has also been made available to students. It is an online discussion platform where we are connected during the hours associated with rehearsal sessions to answer questions from students in addition to exchanges via emails.
