Introduction to radiology, nuclear medicine and tomography reconstruction techniques used by these medical imaging modalities and a practical teaching on digital images.

At the end of the course the student will be able
- to describe and explain the physics of conventionnal radiology (analogic or digital images),
- to describe and explain the physics of CT-scan,
- to describe and explain the basics of dosimetry in CT-scan,
- to describe and explain the physics of in-vivo diagnostic nuclear medicine (scintigraphy and positron emission tomography),
- to describe and explain the mathematics of the problem of tomography reconstruction and some of the methods to solve this problem,
- to use a software of medical image processing.

Oral exam using Lifesize. One question for each of the following topîcs: radiology, nuclear medicine and tomography reconstruction. Twenty minutes maximum per question.
Separate exam via Lifesize ou Blackboard Collaborate (eCampus) of one hour duration on practical works. It is advisable (but not mandatory) to have ImageJ running on your computer.
