In this context, the course will deal with: the purpose of ancient Egyptian written sources and their archaeological dimension; the complementarity of History and Archaeology, and its methodological implications; monumental art (in royal and private contexts) as a source for historical research; pharaohcentrism and the historical role of the elite in egyptological sources.
