Learning unit contents

The structure of the course corresponds to the study of:

  • The physiological bases of massage manoeuvres and their actions on different tissues.
  • The basic massage conditions (modalities, inspection of tissues treated)
  • Massage manoeuvres in developing technical aspects, specific guidelines and contra-indications.
  • Loco-regional applications

Learning general and specific massage techniques.

Particular links with a course on the curriculum:
Previously: introduction to human anatomy
Later: further studies in kinesiology

Student participation in practical work sessions is obligatory. Any absence must be explained. A student who is not present at a minimum number of practical work sessions (a minimum of 75% of sessions) may be refused access to the practical exam.
Material: a towel and massage cream
Equipment: sports clothing and a swimming costume are indispensable.

Assessment methods and criteria

- Theoretical evaluation (written exam in mai-june).
- Practical evaluation (practical exam in mai-june).

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

Face-to-face lessons before shut down.  During home containment, distance lessons (in the form of recorded slides, videos, etc.).

Assessment subjects

The evaluation will relate to the material seen face to face as well as all the course content given remotely and available via the course code (or the course sub-code) on the myULiège and / or E-Campus platforms.

Evaluation à distance par QCM ou Vrai-Faux.

Evaluation pratique sous la forme d'un examen orale à distance. Cette évaluation portera sur l'explication orale, détaillée et chronologique des étapes à suivre en vue d'atteindre le/les objectif(s) fixé(s) par la question. (l'étudiant sera donc seul, sans tierce personne).
