Learning unit contents

Introduction to several aspects of the religious life in the ancient Greek cities, to the sources available for this evaluation and to some interpretations given to these facts.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

To lay emphasis on the religious implications of several aspects of Greek life and to explain how written (literature, inscriptions) and archaeological evidence is useful in the field.
To explain how inappropriate are our own religious categories to understand ancient polytheism.
