Learning unit contents
The course presents the main tools to collect and analyze information (Oral survey, observation, landscape analysis...) and tolls to assess the regional development and to foresight it are presented. A specail attention is given to participatory approaches.
An important chapter is dedicated to Oral Surveys and Interviews technics, including the analysis tools. The students will conduct one survey. (Research questions, questionnaire, test, survey, coding, analysis, statistical tests and report).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The lectures and the exercises present tools and prepare the students to construct and implement a survey. They are planned during one week of May. This fieldwork tends to be as close as possible of real condition of diagnostic. Students work in collaboration to the diagnostic.
