Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session

Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning

In agreement with the only student currently registered for this course, the course will be replaced by a selection of articles and literature, complemented with additional clarifications/slides. This material will allow the student to study the course and its content independently.
Nevertheless, the student is free and even encouraged to ask for feedback and additional clarifications. For this, he can contact the teacher via email. If necessary, further explanations will be provided via LifeSize or a similar online platform. However, the student should take the initiative in this in a timely manner. In case the student does not contact with the teacher, it is supposed that all matters relating to this course are clear and understood.

Assessment subjects

A selection of articles, relevant literature and slides will be provided to the student and placed online (e-campus). The integral content of this material is considered course material, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Some articles are indicated as 'optional'. They are optional in the sense that they will not be the focus of a major exam question. Nonetheless, they provide additional background and information on concepts/figures explained in the slides. The student is expected to be capable of explaining these figures and concepts.

Assessment methods

The evaluation will consist of an oral exam that will be organized online. The student will be assigned (at random) 3-4 questions. These questions will focus on more specific elements of the course and the Reader (e.g. explanation of key figures) as well as the links between different concepts and chapters. He will have 20-30 minutes of preparation time (under online surveillance). This preparation should take place without course material or other resources (except for pen and paper). After the preparation, the student will present the replies online (via LifeSize or a similar platform). The teacher may ask for further clarifications or in-depth questions.
In addition, student will be asked to send (via email) a declaration on honour that he has conducted the exam without cheating. An example of this declaration will be made available before the exam.
