Learning unit contents
The main features of the climatic system over high latitude regions and its significance in the hydrological cycle of the Earth are described through various lessons on ice-sheet and atmospheric dynamics, boundary-layer and surfaces processes specific to polar regions, ice sheet mass balance and sea level rise.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The student will acquire a solid knowledge of polar climate specificities ensuring a general understanding of the scientific questions related to cryospheric environments
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Experience in climatology and meteorology is an added value but not mandatory

practical exam: oral presententation of a scientific article
