Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

This course offers to study specific topics in animal physiology according to students' needs. Studied topics depend upon students' interests for a precise problem possibly related to their honour thesis.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The main goal consists in finding answers to specific problems of animal physiology (including ecophysiology). In this course, all levels of physiology (molecular, cellular and organ aspects) will be examined to draw a global scheme of physiological mechanisms in play.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Cell Physiology, animal physiology, histology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistrry

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)

Each student will choose a precise topics in animal physiology under the teacher's advise. The student will develop the various (molecular, cellular, ...) aspects related to the topics and propose physiological mecanisms underlying the studied case. If possible, each student will present his/her comprehensive work for discussion.

Recommended or required readings

Assessment methods and criteria

The final appreciation will be determined on the basis of the written reports and, if possible, on an oral presentation and the active interaction during the course depending on the number of students attending the course.

Work placement(s)

Organizational remarks

Meetings will be scheduled to advise the students on their project
