Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
The aim of this course is to train students to manage a multi-disciplinary project that puts into practice the theoretical material taught in the "Elements of Power Electronics", "Embedded systems" and "Linear Control Systems" classes. The project consists in designing, developing, building and testing an electronically controlled system, including its power supply.
The theme of the project is chosen by the students in concertation with the academic staff, and can be be coupled with external projects such as the "ingénieurs de projets" contest.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
By the end of the course, the students will have gained a practical knowledge of project management methods and tools, and will have exploited them for the realization of a practical project. They will also have put into practice the material taught in the "Elements of Power Electronics", "Embedded systems" and "Linear Control Systems" courses.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
"Elements of Power Electronics", "Embedded systems" and "Linear control systems" courses.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
- Project management workshops - Practical project carried out by independent groups of 3 or 6 students, with access to a laboratory and with the support of assistants and technicians.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning)
Face-to-face.
Recommended or required readings
Assessment methods and criteria
The project is evaluated on the basis of a written report, an oral presentation and a practical demonstration. Several evaluations are also organized during the year in order to assess the progress of each project.
The final evaluation is mandatory during the first exam session, and cannot be postponed to the second exam session.

Adaptation of teaching commitments following the COVID-19 pandemic for the May-June 2020 session
Teaching methods implemented : distance-learning
As you do not have access to the lab anymore, the realization of a working prototype is not mandatory anymore. If you have the opportunity to produce one, we encourage you to do it and to report it, but we know that only few people have tools for this at home.
Assessment subjects
As you no longer have access to the laboratory, the different aspects of your project have been reviewed with you and what is expected from you has been summarized in the April 14th 2020 email: "APRI0007: summary of the last week discussion about the new objectives".
Assessment methods
You will be evaluated solely based on your final report and the additional material you will send with it. Due to a reorganization of the faculty calendar, all reports have to be submitted by May 15th.
