Conditions and pre-requisites
The training is available to holders of a master in medicine and a specialised master in surgery (or students in at least their fourth year of this specialisation).
Knowledge of English is compulsory.

1. Preparatory work (165 hours of student work - 5 credits)
a. Review of human anatomy, with particular respect to musculo-skeletal and vascular anatomy
b. International Humanitarian Laws - IHL (ICRC e-learning training Center)

- Basic rules and principles of IHL (8 modules with evaluation)
- Thematic module 1 : Health care in danger, the legal framework
c. Thematic module 2 : Rights and responsibilities of health-care personnel in armed conflicts and other emergencies

e. Manuel de Chirurgie humanitaire
f. Top Knife. The art and craft of trauma surgery

2. Humanitarian Surgery Course (130 hours - 5 ECTS) :
a. 90 hours of face-to face classroom ¿ 3 credits
