Learning unit contents
This course constitutes a general introduction to sociology, its main authors and paradigms. Students will be introduced to this discipline by focusing on basic concepts such as social identity and social tie.
Objectives:
- To present a general history of sociology as a scientific discipline and to place sociology within human and social sciences;
- To approach the main paradigms, authors and theories;
- To study key-concepts such as social identity and social tie.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
General knowledge on sociology : authors, founding theories, methods and disciplinary approach.
Learning of the vocabulary associated to the discipline.
Ability to summarise scientific texts.

Ex-cathedra lectures. The course will be organised during the first semester.
